Urgent Funding Needed for Murrumbeena Primary School Hall

Dear Minister Williams and Southern Metropolitan Region Members,

I am writing as a parent at Murrumbeena Primary School to urge the Victorian Government to commit capital funding for a full-sized hall and modernised facilities at our school in the upcoming budget.

Our school of over 550 students currently relies on a hall built in 1996 that was 100% funded by parent donations and constructed at half the standard size of a school hall. Nearly 30 years later, this old crowded facility cannot accommodate our growing student numbers and community events, and its underlying plumbing is no longer suitable, creating ongoing health and sanitation issues.

While neighbouring state schools have received millions in government capital investments for new sports halls and facilities over the last few years, Murrumbeena Primary School continues to miss out. Expecting our school to address major structural plumbing failures out of routine maintenance funding is unreasonable, we need our government to take up this responsibility.

Our children deserve equitable, safe, and modern educational and sporting facilities. I request that you include Murrumbeena Primary School in the next round of Victorian school infrastructure funding.

Yours sincerely, [Your name] [Your suburb/address] Murrumbeena Primary School Parent
